About CGA-Hong Kong

Founded in 1908, the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) is a self-regulating, professional association of 78,000 students and Certified General Accountants – CGAs. CGA-Canada is an active member among the international accounting professions that include: The International Accounting Standards Board (IASC), International Accounting Association (IAA), Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). CGAs work throughout the world in various sectors where professional accounting and financial management is required. CGA clients range from major corporations and industries to entrepreneurs. Their expertise is valued in the public sector, government and the corporate world.

The CGA Program of Professional Studies established its education program in an innovated and standardized manner with nation-wide curriculum since 1951. Competency based learning through online education that allows students to earn while they learn. CGA Program not only focuses on accounting and financial management, it also advanced learners on integrity, ethics and the highest education requirements. Recognized as Canada’s accounting business leaders, CGAs provide strategic counsel, financial leadership, and overall direction to all sectors of the Canadian economy.

CGA-Hong Kong was incorporated on the 14 July, 1999 and affiliated with CGA Canada on the 1 July, 2003 with around 1,000 CGAs students and members registered in Hong Kong. The Board of Directors and Office Bearers of CGA-Hong Kong are all elected by members who, with comprehensive accounting experiences in the industry, serve the Association on a voluntary basis. Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong has been the Patron of CGA-Hong Kong ever since.
